However, this effect can leave the audio sounding a little hollow. Now I'm reducing that in Audition using the Noise Reduction effect, and it's actually working pretty well. I boosted the gain in Premiere (20 db) to get it to an audible level, which brought the BG noise up considerably. I know I'm not going to get it perfect, but I've managed to get it to a much better spot even with just some preliminary tinkering. Just getting the audio synced in the first place was a small miracle. The sound from the location was all sorts of messed up - no slate, no timecode, bad acoustics in the room, bad background noise, and recorded quietly. I am a video editor, with some basic knowledge of sound design, but I'm not an audio expert. So I'm editing a short film right now, and location sound from one scene is pretty bad. r/FilmMakers /r/VideoProduction /r/Videography /r/VideoEngineering /r/Editors /r/DocProduction /r/Freelance /r/ProduceMyScript r/GameAudio /r/LocationSound /r/RateMyAudio /r/ProTools /r/Music /r/StudioPorn /r/SFXLibraries /r/SoundEffectSwap /r/AudioProductionDeals If you need an audio post professional, look here.
